Stu “The Kid” Ungar was born in the year 1953 in New York and was only 10 years old while he won a gin tournament. By 1974, he was considered to be one of the top players in New York. Brunson also won ten World Series of Poker bracelets so far through his 40-years career, tied with Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan. He is as well known as the one of only four players to won successive major events at the WSOP, in 1977 and 1976. Phil Helmuth was born in 1964 in Madison, Wisconsin. Fast forward 25 years into the future and the youthful Phil defeats two-time defensive champion, Johnny Chan, in the World Series of Poker main event. Hellmuth attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for three years dropping out to play poker professionally. Ever then he is famously known as the poker brat, referring to his ego and moves towards other players at the table.

Johnny Chan was born in China in 1962 and later on moved with his family to Arizona and lastly to Texas, where his family own restaurants. Chan enter the game at the age of 16, where he got on a junket at Las Vegas. A few years later he dropped out of college in order to go to Vegas and turn into a  poker player. As a pro, Chan was extremely successful, winning every game, which he had accredited to the information that at the time, most players did not have knowledge playing next to an Asian poker player and so could not “read him”.
